That Special Feeling

In the midst of Fleet Week this weekend, I made time to watch the 49ers game. Whether that was a good idea or not, I will leave up to you to decide. But keep in mind that the 49ers lost with a final score of 28-3 and their record is now 1-3. Anyway, since my free days away from work have been few and far between, I thought that I should make the best of a rare occasion that I had nothing pressing to do on Sunday and watch the 49ers (something that I used to love to do). Now don't get me wrong, Fleet Week is one of my favorite times of year in San Francisco as well, but there is only so much coolness you can take at one time. And I did get my share of those Blue Angels on Friday...I could go on forever about how cool they are, but I have other things to talk about right now.

But anyway, back to my story. Let me describe a very special feeling that I experienced while watching the 49er game. Have you ever had a small paper cut on your finger that really hurt? I mean, really really hurt. And then you decided to pick at it and the cut got bigger and started to hurt even more? And then you noticed that you had a hang-nail on your other finger, which you decided to pick and then that finger starts to bleed as well? And before you know it, your whole hand is bleeding and you're full of pain and you forgot why it was so important to start picking at your injured finger in the first place? Well that was the feeling that I got while watching the 49ers yesterday. And I have just begun to realize that a 49er game, this season, is just not complete until I have achieved that special feeling in my gut telling me that I have enormous amounts of pain but I can't, for the life of me, turn off the television.

It was that bad.
