Mondays

It’s Monday and I am getting back into the daily grind. What is it about Mondays that puts me in such a funky mood? It’s a mood that prevents me from being totally relaxed and happy, but not quite crazy and psychotic. Do you know what I mean? It can be touch and go on Mondays. No matter what your weekend was like, whether good, bad or average, who can really say they look forward to Mondays? There’s just something about Mondays that puts bad feelings into the world.

Anyway, things are kinda crazy for me…but I guess when do I say that things are not crazy? Due to some personal stuff, this will be a relatively short week in the office for me this week and next week. But what sucks even more is that when I get back to the office things are going to be even crazier since I’ll have double the amount of stuff to complete in half the amount of time. You know what’s horrible? When I have to take a few days off from work to relax and get things back into perspective, only to find that when I return to work, I’m even more stressed out and out of sorts than when I left.

Mondays…not exactly doomsday, but sometimes close enough.

Bandwagoning

As most of you probably know, the San Jose Sharks are in the Stanley Cup playoffs and will be playing the Dallas Stars tomorrow night in the first game of the Western Conference Semifinals.

Now, at any other time of the hockey season you could ask me to name a player who plays for the Sharks and I wouldn’t be able to do it, but now…yeah, test me. Ask me anything. And I’ll have an answer for you. I can’t guarantee that it is a knowledgeable, well thought out comment, but hey, that isn’t always necessary. I just have enough information to keep me afloat during random bouts of general conversation.

I’m not ashamed to admit that I can bandwagon with the best of them. I’m usually not a big hockey fan, but given the right time and place, I can be. And playoff time is always a great time to bandwagon on regional teams since it is all the rage. So in the spirit of Bay Area love…Go Sharks.

Olympic Torch in San Francisco

Tomorrow the Olympic torch will make its one and only stop in San Francisco on its North American tour before heading back to China. Why not Los Angeles or New York? I don’t know. But you have to admit that San Francisco is the coolest city in America.

The torch arrived at SFO around 4 am this morning, and is probably lost in baggage claim as we speak. Although, I would imagine that it was probably on a long and torturous British Airways flight. I feel sorry for its long journey. It was probably subject to either sitting next to a stinky European person or locked up in cargo handling surrounded by pounds of sticky cheese. Either way, sounds like a horribly long trip.

As for the actual torch relay tomorrow, it should be rather cool. I mean, of course, the whole 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing will always be surrounded with controversy, but you have to admit that having the torch make its only North American appearance in San Francisco is pretty awesome.

Hmmm...

I hate vacations.

I despise traveling.

I don’t like to talk.

I love all animals.

I crave the taste of fresh coffee.

I prefer to spend a nice day in the office.

I wish I had more time to sleep.

I hope to spend more time arguing.

I dream about clouds.

And most of all, I love you.

Hahaha…I couldn’t even say most of those with a straight face.

Happy April Fool’s Day.
