A Short Hiatus

So I just looked at my calendar and realized that October begins tomorrow. Holy crap. I need to a moment to get over that please…alright, I’m over it. This week is going by so slow. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel…but it looks so far away. I have some upcoming plans on the horizon and I’m excited to get started. With my mom’s birthday this weekend, getting slammed at work next week, and going on vacation late next week…I’m going to take a break from this blog for a few weeks and go on a short hiatus.

In the meantime, feel free to check out my Seattle pictures, which I finally found time to upload. Pictures from my upcoming vacation will be posted as soon as I return.

Bad Sports Weekend

I find that I can’t even read the sports section this Monday morning because this past weekend was so heart breaking for Bay Area sports. Completely and utterly heart breaking. :-(

Let’s start off with the Giants. With three straight losses to the Cubs, they officially put a nail in their partially closed coffin and just kissed goodbye all hopes of making it to the playoffs. I had high hopes to see them, at least, win on Friday night, but was highly disappointed with a shut out instead. So with only a few games left, here’s to the end of their 2009 season. That sucks.

Next up, the Cal game. Where should I start with this one? Anyone who saw, heard or even knows the score from Saturday’s game…knows how bad it was. Cal lost to the Ducks 42-3…ugh, yeah, it was awful. And that’s not even the worst of it. Before Saturday’s game, Cal was ranked number 4, but now…they’re ranked number 24. Ouch. Their season is pretty much over (they’ll be lucky to even make it to a bowl game)…even I know that. See, that hurts.

And finally, the Niners. Oh man, talk about heart breaking. Watching them play brought back old memories of the golden years when the Niners were a force to be reckoned with. With two wins under their belt going into Sunday’s game, it was easy to believe that the Niners actually could take the Vikings and walk away with a win. They played such a great game, but lost in the last 2 minutes of the game and had to return home with a loss. How painful is that?

So, alas, here we are on Monday morning, depressed and ready to start the week. Great…

Seattle

I have just returned from an extended weekend in Seattle…and I’m beat. So I’m going to keep this very short and sweet today.

I was able to check out a lot of the major icons (i.e. the Space Needle, Pike Place, Safeco Field, etc.) and had a great time exploring. It was a great weekend destination because I had no problem knocking out a lot of the sights that I really wanted to see. The food was good, the weather was perfect, and the sights were nice. How do you like that for short and sweet…? Ha! :-) But seriously, I wish I had time to throw up some pictures, but they’ll be up soon and I’ll provide more details and information at some later point.

Until then…ZZZzzzZZZzzzZZZ.

Games

The Giants and the Niners won on Sunday. Wahoo! How awesome was that? Granted, if the Giants won more of their games this past weekend (and had a better shot of making the playoffs), this post would be a lot more exciting and fun to write. But alas…it is what it is.

I still have a few more Giants games to go to during the course of this season and it would be great if they could make it more interesting by keeping our playoff hopes alive. Is that too much to ask? Last night I enjoyed a nice game at the park in one of their box suites. After all the games that I have been to, the box suites are one of the few places that I haven’t been in. And to tell you the truth…eh, it was ok. Granted, I loved the experience of being in a suite and I’m definitely not knocking that. But the crowds in the surrounding suites are not the kind of Giants fans that make the games fun. They were too concerned with sipping their wine, talking business and keeping their clothes clean. Ha…our suite more than made up for the lack of enthusiasm, noise and fun in the surrounding suites, but man, c’mon, when you go to a game…either be a fan or get the hell out.

I posted pics from the game last night and our “suite” adventure (haha…get it? I said suite…as in sweet adventure…ok whatever, I thought it was funny). :-)

I’m Done

With Labor Day behind me, you all know what that means…I’m officially done with my “summer diet”…wahoo!! Since I started my summer diet a little before Memorial Day this year, I’m more excited than ever to be done with it. My weight has gone through a roller coaster these last few months and I think it’s time that I get myself back on track by just getting rid of the diet all together and just going back to enjoying myself again.

First up, I want a Coke and a cupcake, not at the same time…but I do want a Coke and a cupcake. There’s nothing better than a really good cupcake…and a really chewy cookie…and a really warm brownie. Plus, let’s save some room for some ice cream, cake and candy. Wow...ok…as you can see I really, really missed my desserts. Haha...my sweet tooth is still there. :-) But seriously, to tell you the truth, I do like the way that I've been feeling these last few months. Getting rid of the majority of artificial and processed sugar in my system for a few months has been a great way to detox my system.

Well...there goes another holiday weekend. Lovely. With my upcoming week at work completely packed with meetings, I'm glad that I was able to enjoy a nice weekend to relax. I just hope that this relaxed and laid back mood will get me through the rest of the week. So for your entertainment, let me just leave you with a video I took as my most bizarre and random weekend sighting.

What Plans

Can you believe we are in September already? Man, ok, I’m sure I complain way too much about how fast time flies (and this will hardly be the last time, I’m sure), but damn…it’s September already!!! See what happens when I get too caught up in things…I blink and the time just flies right by. It’s nuts I tell you. Before I know it, the stupid Halloween craze is going to be upon us, then that turkey will be rolling out before my eyes, followed shortly by the lighting of that big ass tree…and then the infamous sign of another year…the dropping of that damn ball again. So where was I going with this...? Oh yeah, it's Labor Day weekend.

Anyway, with a long holiday weekend here, I’m anxious to make the most of it and enjoy some super cool plans. Not to say that I have any super cool plans…I’m just kinda making them up as I go along…which, I know, is so unlike me. Weird, huh? What can I say? With the Bay Bridge closed, most of my friends out of town, and the weather not looking so great…I’m having a hard time coming up with those “super cool plans.” :-/

Nevertheless, after an absolutely exhausting and draining week...not to mention a killer week ahead, I need to enjoy this weekend as if it were my last chance of freedom. So I'll kick up my heels and try to find something interesting and fun to do. ;-)
