Halloween

I hate costumes. I hate scary movies. And I hate people who act stupid just because they think they can. You see where I’m going with this? Yes, that’s right, I hate Halloween.

This should come as no surprise to anyone since I’ve been pretty vocal about it. But damn, Halloween riles me up and annoys me more and more each year…it’s kinda like my total disgust and hatred for Valentine’s Day. Same category.

I think my deep rooted hatred for Halloween began when I was a child. I remember numerous times when my “good natured and well meaning” friends thought it was totally hilarious to scare me shitless knowing that I am the biggest chicken on the planet. And when I say the biggest chicken on the planet…I’m not kidding. I’m pretty sure everyone can attest to that. The smallest sounds, the slightly scariest movies, anything unusual can totally make me jump right out of my skin. So it should be no surprise that I hate Halloween.

I really don’t have anything else to say…I just want to pretend that Halloween doesn’t exist.

Yawn

I did not anticipate my hiatus from this blog lasting this long, but what can I say? I got lazy. :-)

I have returned from my trip to St. Louis and Chicago and posted my pictures. It seems that I’m running out of space on my picture page…so I had to drop some of my past picture folders…although I doubt that anyone is going to miss them. But can you believe that? I’m running out of room for my pictures. This year does seem unusual in that respect...I feel like I’ve had a pretty productive year in terms of travel. My new year’s resolution was to travel more, and I think I knocked that out of the park. Usually my new year’s resolutions don’t always go as planned and I have to scramble to come up with something new so I can reach the end of the year with some sort of feeling of accomplishment, but I think this year…I’m good.

Anyway, I had a good time in St. Louis and Chicago…more so in Chicago, but that’s to be expected since there is more to see and do. I had a lot of fun…and, of course, the food was pretty good. I don’t know what it is about the Chicago deep dish pizza that makes it so good to justify the wait time…but seriously, every pizza place that I went to had a disclaimer that diners must be prepared to wait, at least, half an hour after you order…you know, since the pizzas are made to order. Made to order…? Everything is suppose to be made to order. Personally, I just think it’s just a ploy to excuse bad service. Who in their right mind would go out, order…and then wait almost an hour for pizza? That’s nuts. It’s just pizza…not a freakin’ Broadway production. Well, as you can tell, I get really crabby when I’m really hungry. Anyway, what else? Oh yes, the ribs and bbq sauce in St. Louis were to die for. Granted, I only had a few meals in St. Louis, but I honestly could’ve died happy after that one.

OK with all that said...I'm hungry and I need a snack.
