Madness Update

I had a chance to watch some of the games this past weekend and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the games streamed over the internet. I wonder which company is in charge of managing the hosts for the streamed videos, because they did an awesome job and deserve major props. Anyway, I digress, I collected some thoughts that I will now regurgitate in bullet-style fashion. Without further ado:

-First off, how happy were you all that Duke got knocked out in the first round? I was stoked. And they were knocked out by VCU by all teams…not that that’s bad or anything…just making a comment. So all hail the demiss of Duke. I can’t tell you how happy that makes me.

-This year I’m faced with a few crazy Georgetown and Kansas fans. I’m a little worried since I’m not very confident that Kansas will make it to the Elite Eight and I have Georgetown getting eliminated before the Final Four. So let’s just say that for the amount of trash talk that I have been dishing out about Kansas and Georgetown, I hope they both get eliminated and eliminated soon.

-Sweet Sixteen is around the corner and I still have 11 teams in the running, which is pretty good if I say so myself. Although, I was very surprised that Old Dominon and Davidson didn’t make it past the first round…that really screwed up the midwest portion of my bracket. As for all the other teams on my bracket, all is calm. UNC, Memphis, Florida and UCLA are doing well.

-Being in California and all, I feel at a slight disadvantage since the only team that I can reasonably bandwagon on for regional loyalty issues is UCLA. Not that I am complaining…just making a comment. I mean, Stanford never really had a chance to make it past the first round against Louisville last week, and short of that, there are no more teams representing California…I mean, all the good teams are where? North Carolina, Ohio, Illinois…Kansas…psh please.

-Lastly, speaking of brackets, I'm actually in pretty decent shape. Of course, all my teams will lose now that I say that, but it's still nice. I already posted my final four teams in a previous post, and as you can see, I’m doing alright.

Long live the power of March Madness and the lack of productivity it produces.
