Shoulder Pain

So I never really noticed the way my body worked until it doesn’t work like it’s suppose to anymore…case in point…my right shoulder. And, yes, I know that I have always had shoulder problems, but this time it is so much worse. It’s no longer just a dull and fleeting pain, but more of a sharp, intense, nagging pain.

Let’s see…the history on my shoulder pain all started about ten years ago. First there was the tennis injury (during a match, I ran back to hit a high lob, only to run, shoulder-first, into the pole in the fence…and continuing to play while injured), then that car accident (sitting in a parked car and getting hit from behind and having the frame of the car strike my shoulder…that sucked), then the soccer bicycle kick that went wrong (me trying to make the play of my life, only to have a big ass girl from Woodside blindside me and unfairly hit me in midair…that bitch…but also continuing to play while injured)…and now, well a whole lot of lifting, carrying, and wear and tear on a bum shoulder.

For the last few days I have been experiencing pain in and around my shoulder…and it’s so extremely painful. Even putting on a shirt in the morning, washing my hair and sleeping…is painful enough to force a grimace out of me…which says a lot about how much it hurts. And the worst part is that I can’t exactly pinpoint what caused the pain or when it started.

As most of you know, I’m not one to seek medical attention for anything. So my self-diagnosis consists of rest for my shoulder, giving it time to heal, and trying to stop being crazy and stupid about what I force my shoulder to do for me…well and some pain medicine never hurts either. That sounds good, right?
