Just Around the Corner

OK I don't know who I can direct my complaint to...so I'm just gonna throw this out there and vent to the world.

I got my second Halloween party invitation today...and it just reminds me that Halloween is just around the corner. And I hate Halloween. I do my best to avoid it and anything related to it (well, ok, minus the candy hehe). But that's not what gets to me and what I'm complaining about. What really gets to me is that I see Christmas decorations up in stores already. Yes, Target, Walgreens and Costco...I'm talking to you. Why do you have Christmas decorations up in the middle of September?!?! That's retarded!!!

I mean, don't you remember what it was like to have the built up anticipation and excitement around Black Friday? When you would hit the stores and see everything all decked out for Christmas for the first time and be genuinely excited for the holidays? It was the best. Granted, I used to work hard to do all my Christmas shopping before Thanksgiving to avoid the holiday rush...but now, it's barely the end of summer and stores are trying to get me into the holiday shopping mode and ready for Christmas. I refuse to buy into this garbage and refuse to start my holiday shopping until after Thanksgiving. Heck, I just might be passing out IOUs this year.

Ugh. At this rate, I'm gonna be ba-hum-bugging it a lot this year...it's not even Halloween and I'm already dreading the holiday season. And let me tell you...you start playing the Christmas music and you're just asking for a beating.
