Moneyball

I don't like Oakland and I'm not an A's fan, but after watching Moneyball...I just couldn't help but want to cheer for the A’s. And this is coming from me...a San Francisco Giants fan. I know, I know, this movie is suppose to be more than just about baseball and can transcend the differences that divide us all....blah, blah, blah. But, whatever, I'm a Giants fan and wanting to watch a movie based on the A's is almost unethical. But hey, like I said, as a Giants fan...I actually enjoyed the movie. It was pretty good (there were some slow parts, but still, pretty good).

There was a bunch of hype around this movie the last couple weeks and that did make me a little nervous. I mean, was the hype because the movie is actually good…or because I'm in the Bay Area and the movie is about the A's…or because of just Brad Pitt? It was probably because all three. Haha. It was a movie about baseball…so I’m not sure if I would recommend Moneyball to any of my sports challenged friends…but there were some funny parts that might entice a laugh. Oh, and I do have the book sitting on my desk…I’m gonna have to find some time and get to that and see how it compares to the movie.

Anyway the only complaint that I have about Moneyball is the ending. I love watching movies with a happy ending…and well, Moneyball doesn’t have a happy ending. Well ok…it’s the A’s, how can I expect a happy ending from the A’s? Haha. Wow that’s funny. :-)
