My Stores

When you think of the places where you shop…where do your loyalties lie? Since I’ve been planning this party and in charge of food, favors and prizes, I realize there are only a couple places that I choose to shop at and…I visit them over and over and over again.

Target – I love Target. Target has everything and I do mean, literally, everything. There has not been a time when I have needed something that Target hasn’t had. It’s amazing. There are two Targets that I regularly visit and know the floor plan like the back of my hand…and yet I still find myself wandering around aimlessly browsing for things I don’t need. Haha. Now if only I could get them to hire me, I would have an excuse to be there all the time…and that would be great.

Costco – Who doesn’t love Costco and being able to buy things in bulk? It’s awesome. I mean, I love mayonnaise…and at Costco, I can buy a whole gallon of mayonnaise instead of this 8 or 12 oz garbage. And rice? Don’t get me started on how much rice I could buy at Costco. I’m Chinese…and I eat a lot of rice. Costco is my best friend. And hey, if I don’t go to Costco to buy something, I can always count on running into some random person I know there. Costco is the new social place to be. Haha.

Safeway – I’m at Safeway, at least, once a week. Yes, buying in bulk saves money but when I need “fresh” items…I go to Safeway. Safeway has such an awesome marketing plan. I mean, I find myself at work and I randomly think of something I need and/or want to buy so…I go to their website, see if it qualifies as a “just for you” item, add it to my cart…find myself browsing for other “just for you” items to throw in my cart…and then head to Safeway to do my shopping and find more things I want to buy. It’s super convenient and really cool. And don’t get me started on their Friday specials…I go nuts for those too.

Anyway, what stores are on your list? Does your list look like my list? I’m just curious.

Summer Movie List

In my attempt to distract myself from my busy schedule and not able to spare time for an actual vacation, I realize it’s time for me to see a movie. I don’t mean some random movie I already own or stream some movie online, I mean, I want to go to an actual theater, buy a bucket of popcorn (and a Cherry Coke), turn off my cell phone and sit down and watch a real movie (you notice how I said, turn off my cell phone, right?). I honestly can’t remember the last time I actually went to a theater to see a movie and you know what…? I realize I’m actually looking forward to it. So I put together a list of movies that I want to see and will (try to) make plans to see them in the theaters:

May 10 – The Great Gatsby – Way back in the day when I went to school, there was this thing called a summer reading list. The Great Gatsby was on my summer reading list and it was one of my favorite books as a kid/pre-teen. I hope the movie lives up to what I remember from the book.

May 15 – Star Trek Into Darkness – I’m definitely not a “trekky” and don’t know anything about the original Star Trek series, however, I did see the remake movie in 2009 and I actually really liked it (yes, I said I really liked it). So I plan to see the next one and hope it doesn’t disappoint.

May 24 – The Hangover Part III – Yes, I’m gonna have to see this movie. I saw the first one and laughed my ass off. I saw the second one and thought it was…ok, at best, but still found parts of it pretty funny. And with the third movie, well, I’m lowering my expectations and hoping it’s going to be good enough to make me laugh and keep me entertained. There’s just something about those 3 guys that I find totally hilarious.

June 7 – The Internship – Now ok, I may not actually make it to the theaters to see this movie, however, I do think every once in awhile I need to see a dumb ass, I-don’t-want-to-think-and-just-want-to-be-distracted, movie and…this might be the movie for me. But who knows, I’m still on the fence about this one.

June 21 – Monsters University – I would like to think I’m a big Pixar fan. I mean, I loved Toy Story, Cars and Monsters Inc. However, lately…well, I’ve been nothing but disappointed by Pixar. Up was depressing, Cars 2 sucked and I haven’t even bothered to see Brave yet. So…I’m holding out hope Monsters University is going to restore my faith in Pixar and the world will be right again.

So that’s my summer movie list (as of right now). If you share my desire to want to enter a theater, buy popcorn and a soda and immerse yourself in the experience of a real movie, please feel free to join me. :)

Busy

So things have been busy lately. And generally speaking, I like to be busy. I enjoy having things to do, places to go and people to see. Staying busy keeps me focused, active and out of trouble. However, there comes a time when I just want an empty weekend to be spontaneous, a day to catch up on errands or a free night to myself. And as I’m looking at my calendar, I’m afraid that I’m not going to have time to “do nothing” anytime soon. No joke.

But, hey, who knows, maybe things will open up in the summertime and I can actually put together a good post. :(

Blogging

Since snowboarding season is over and my bracket is officially dead, I’ve got nothing else to do but hit the blog. I don’t know if you’ve noticed…but I’ve been slacking on the blog post front lately. It’s April 1 and I only have 2 posts to show for the whole month of March. What can I say…? Blogging totally slipped off my radar and I haven’t made the time to write anything up.

I feel like a lot of things have been going on lately but I don’t know what to share and where to start. And yes, I know, it’s April Fool’s Day, so I know there really isn’t a point to write anything on here at all. I mean, no one would believe anything I’d say anyway, right? Haha. Yeah, that’s what I thought. So consider this a quick check-in and I’ll save my update for another time.
